Terracotta warriors march to Sydney (NSW), 4 December 2010 – 13 March 2011
Excitement of a quieter sort will prevail at the Art Gallery of New SouthWales in Sydney’s Domain precinct when the terracotta warriors arrive. The exhibition features one of the foremost archaeological discoveries of the 20th century – the terracotta army set in place 2,200 years ago to protect the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shihuang. The exhibition includes life-size warriors, foot soldiers, generals, kneeling bowmen, cavalry and chariot horses – all on loan from institutions in Shaanxi province, including the Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qin Shihuang. At just $55 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children) the Sydney exhibition will offer education and inspiration.
